PayPal Enables Tap to Pay on iPhone for Businesses
PayPal has announced that its Zettle and Venmo business users in the United States can now accept contactless payments directly on their iPhones.
This will be helpful for small businesses that cannot afford efficient tools for payment, thus enabling them to serve more customers. This also means it’s not important whether one has hardware specifically made for payments or not that is to be used in the provision of the service.
In a statement, Nitin Prabhu, who is a PayPal representative, explained that small businesses require affordable and flexible methods of payment wherever they are located, not necessarily being fixed at one place. Consequently, by allowing Tap to Pay on iPhone, they can now take in contactless payments throughout any place they could be, and in doing so, they can expand their range of clients, thus increasing the scope of sales they make.
The new attribute simplified the business payment process. Using this, consumers can add taxes, give back money, send receipts, and accept tips directly via an app.
The money from the purchase will arrive in your company’s Zettle or Venmo account shortly after the transaction is completed. PayPal has not given any timeline details, though.
Elaine Bailey, founder of The Cheesecake Queen, highlighted the simplicity of setting up Tap to Pay. “Enabling it with our Venmo business profile was easy, and it’s handy when we have a long line and need to process payments quickly.”
When PayPal removes the necessity of having separate equipment, it means that even small enterprises will be able to offer convenient payment methods, thereby making payments more accessible.
A situation like this will attract many clients and result in more money being collected. In any case, it serves as an illustration of how devoted PayPal is; they have even taken the Tap-to-Pay technology of the iPhone and included it as a way of implementing it, demonstrating their determination by focusing not only on traditional aspects such as using credit cards or online transfers but also integrating new features like POS terminals, which enable customers to pay via their smartphones using NFC.
The main purpose of this step for PayPal was to create fresh payment alternatives for businesses to adopt according to their transaction specificities.
As contactless payments continue to gain popularity, tap-to-pay functionality is becoming a necessity. Recently, Tap to Pay was launched for merchants in the Japan. The customer experience for the seller could be improved through this. This could, in turn, save the merchant time.
